Weaving Wonders!

On Thursday, the 24th of January, we started to make a loom for weaving. First we cut out a 10cm x 10cm piece of cardboard. Then we drew 10 equally spaced lines. We recently received the great news that the school has been awarded “Digital Schools” status. The Digital Schools Award is an initiative which recognises excellence in a school’s approach to the integration of ICT in learning and teaching. Grandparents Day

St. Brigid’s Day Crosses

On St Brigids Day 1st February the First Communion and Confirmation classes got together and made St. Brigid’s crosses. Gaelic Football Mini-League

The Ransboro NS Gaelic football mini-league  is now well underway. This competition is being run in preparation for the Cumann na mBunscol inter-school competition which begins after Easter. All children from fourth, fifth and sixth classes were given the opportunity to participate. The 49 boys and girls who signed up were divided into 6 teams. There are two groups of three teams with each team guaranteed two games.

Literacy stations in first class

First class have been working in stations to improve their reading , writing, listening and oral language skills. The class has been divided into 5 groups for station time, with 6 children in each group. There are 5 stations set up in the classroom and each group works at each station for 10 minutes at a time. Station teaching happens from Monday to Thursday
