Our Trip to Knock -2nd Class

On May 28th we went on a retreat to Knock. We had a very enjoyable day taking part in many activities. We got a tour around all the churches, prayed and chatted with our leader Mairéad, visited the history museum and got to fill bottles of Holy water and bring them home with us.


Video Call on Poverty and Homelessness

6th Class pupils have been recently learning about and discussing issues relating to poverty, famine and homelessness in the world. Story time with 2nd and Junior Infants

Over the last couple of weeks the children in Second class were working very hard on their versions of the Christmas story. Once they were completed they went down to Junior Infants to read the stories to them. Second Class remembered to ask questions while they were reading and everyone enjoyed themselves.  


First Communion Preparation

The children in second class have been working very hard preparing for their First Holy Communion. Although they are very excited their behaviour in church has been excellent. Pioneer Pledge

On the 4th of June fourteen people in our class took a pledge. This pledge was to not smoke, drink until age 18 and to stay off illegal drugs for life. The ceremony took place in the local church, Star of the Sea Ransboro in the presence of Father Mc Crann. There was a lady from the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association (PTAA) there. Her

Confirmation

On Thursday 16th of May 6th class in Ransboro and Strandhill School made their Confirmation. The mass was on in Ransboro church and at eleven o’clock the bishop started the mass. 6th Class Donation to Sligo Cancer Support Centre

Today, June 6th, we had a visitor in 6th class. A really nice lady called Maureen from the Sligo Cancer Support Centre. She came so that we could present her with a cheque for €500! Lá Glas

Thursday the 15th was “Lá Glás” in our school. Everyone wore green for St Patrick’s Day.  The whole school went to the halla where  Mrs Clarke gave a Powerpoint display on the history of St Patrick.  When Mrs. Clarke was finished, each class got up one by one in front of everyone and sang a song, did a rhyme or poem or played tin whistle.  The whole

St. Brigid’s Day Crosses

On St Brigids Day 1st February the First Communion and Confirmation classes got together and made St. Brigid’s crosses.
