Literacy stations in first class

First class have been working in stations to improve their reading , writing, listening and oral language skills. The class has been divided into 5 groups for station time, with 6 children in each group. There are 5 stations set up in the classroom and each group works at each station for 10 minutes at a time. Comprehension programme in middle and senior classes

The middle and senior classes have been following ‘Building Bridges of Understanding’, a reading comprehension programme aimed at giving children the strategies they need to become good readers.  By learning about these strategies, children can become more involved in the text they are reading and deepen their understanding of the text.
