We have had two socially distanced dance classes with 6th class. Some of 6th class made up the dance taught it to their class and they then taught it to us. We had great fun out on the playground all dancing together.
To make our sheep we drew round a body and a head template and cut them out. We then drew on the eyes, nose and mouth and stuck some wool on the head. We used cotton wool to make swirls of black wool on the body then stuck the head and body together and added some legs.
We have been saying lots of nursery rhymes and doing different activities associated with them. For Hickory Dickory Dock we made mice. We coloured the different shapes, cut them out, stuck them together and stuck on eyes, a nose and a tail.
Monday was a nice day so we went for a walk around the football pitch.
On Friday we went out into the playground with our chalks and had fun drawing lots of different things.
We had a busy first day in Junior Infants. Everyone settled in really well and we had a fun day.
We went to a céilí on Friday with senior infants, first class, fifth class and sixth class. We danced with fifth and sixth class. First we did shoe the donkey then the Siege of Ennis. We had great fun.
As part of our Aistear topic we read the story of Elmer and made our own Elmers. We also made giraffes. We had to do a lot of cutting, sticking and colouring. We think they look great.
Our recent Aistear topic was safari. We had different roles – the driver, the assistant/guide and the customers. We had to buy tickets, check in with the driver, listen to the guide, use the binoculars to find the animals and tick them off our list. The driver and guide had to sell the tickets, follow the map and help the customers find the animals.
