Happy Easter from Second class!
A selection of the cards we made for Mother’s Day.
Lá Glas was a very exciting day in second class. We had a catwalk show in our room to show off all the lovely costumes, sang Irish songs and made 3D shamrock cards.
We painted lambs and used chalk for the grass and marker to add the facial features. We also used our colouring, cutting, matching and sticking skills to make chicks.
As part of our science topic we were looking at air – how we know it’s there and how we can change things or move items using air. We made bubble paintings by blowing into a mixture of paint and bubble mix. We then drew round and cut out flowers and a butterfly and stuck them on a background to make spring scenes.
The kids of Second class have been working on the African theme far a while now. And we were lucky enough to report on their work. On Friday we worked with our buddies. As part of our Aistear topic (the home corner) we made houses by colouring a house outline, drawing around shapes for the doors, windows and chimneys and sticking them in the right place. We also told them the story from our reading books. We really enjoyed working with our buddies.
We painted our faces and discussed what we needed to add and the colours we would use.
First Class painted a jar with fireflies in it. They did a really great job, see photos below…
