Our Family History

Our  third and fourth classes have been studying our family histories over the past few weeks. We made timelines and  family trees and interviewed our parents and grandparents about life when they were young. Celtic homes

On the 15th of October, fifth class started constructing models of Celtic ring forts, hill forts, as well as crannógs. We drew up plans and used a variety of materials to create our structures. Some children brought in plastic animals to be part of a farm belonging to the Celts! There was great excitement and creativity in the class. We worked well in groups sharing ideas and tasks

On the 19th of October 2012, 6th Class had a cake sale in the school hall to raise money for the Mission V Fund IT campaign . Active Flag Committee

This year we are going for our second Active Flag. We have a new Active Flag Committee composed of eight 5th class children. Tag Rugby in the School.

Today and for a couple of weeks on Monday, 5th class and 6th class started Tag Rugby.  6th class started first at ten O’ clock until ten thirty. 5th class then played tag rugby from ten thirty until eleven O’ clock. Hurling Video

On Wednesdays 6th class do hurling. The coaches name is Benny. During the lesson we do drills and short games. Many of us have learned lots of new skills. It is great fun and we all enjoy it  and are always looking forward to Wednesday. Here is a stop motion video  our teacher made using an ipad.
