Senior Infants are working on Construction as our theme in Aistear. We have architects and builders on site who know how to abide by health and safety and building regulations!We are confident and efficient and are available to help the builders working on the school’s extension if they need it ;)!


Senior Infants know their Shapes!

Senior Infants used Ipods to take photos of 2D shapes in our Environment! We found lots of 2D shapes outside our school. Junior and Senior Infants had a visit from the Doctor!

Our Aistear theme for the past few weeks has been a hospital. Junior and Senior Infants had a visit from a doctor! Dr. Mary Breslin works as a doctor and surgeon in Sligo General Hospital. Skeletons

 Our Aistear theme for the past few weeks has been a Hospital.  We have a Radiographer working in our Hospital.  We learned all about our skeleton and the names of the bones in our bodies.  We cut and pasted bones to make a skeleton and we labelled the major bones in the body.  Here are some pictures….


We grew watercress seeds!

      We grew watercress seeds in our class.  We put some compost into a yogurt pot and planted some seeds in it.  We watered our seeds every day and placed them in sunlight.  Our seeds grew in a few days! We also set up two control pots – Pot 1 was watered but placed in darkness, Pot 2 was placed in sunlight and not watered.

Sarah & Humphrey!

        We had a visit from Mr. O’ Hara and his two pet lambs, Sarah and Humphrey!  They are four weeks old.  They need to be fed four times a day with milk.  Mr. O’Hara fed the lambs with a bottle, they drank the milk very quickly and were wagging their tails really fast!  The lambs were very friendly and we

Fire Station Visit!

We visited the Fire station in Sligo last Wednesday.  Jason and Glen (Firefighters) showed us around the station.  We saw all the different fire engines, they were so big and we got to sit in one!  Glen put on the siren for us, it was very loud.  The firemen showed us all the different equipment that they use, it was very interesting.
