Fairy Takes Up Residence in The Glen

Irish Myths and Legends Ceramic Art

3rd & 4th class last year completed a beautiful ceramic art installation on the theme of Irish Myths and Legends with the ceramicist Rachel Quinn. Rachel recently completed a ceramic heading for the installation and this can be seen in the porch inside the front door. This really enhances the appearance of the installation and is a great addition to our school.

Happy Hallowe’en

On the last day before the mid-term break we all dressed up in our Hallowe’en outfits. Third class was a scary place to be with zombies, vampires, witches, science fiction characters, ghosts and even two babies let loose for the day! We made symmetrical pumpkins for Art using orange and black paper. We performed a Hallowe’en poem called ‘The Haunted House’.


Friendship Squad

This year 5th class are involved in Friendship Squad. 6th class are helping out because there are not enough children in 5th. This year there is lots of brilliant new equipment for all the classes. We have space hoppers, lots of dice, chalk, bean bags, a giant target board, a giant chess set, a snakes and ladders game and lots more fun toys. Friendship

Santa’s Elf Visits The Glen

We discovered that there was an unusual visitor to The Glen last Thursday night. It appears that one of Santa’s elves visited The Glen, had a look around to check up on pupils and left a small gift.


Philippines Collection

On the 15th of November, the school held a collection for the people in the Philippines. As you probably know the Philippines was hit over two weeks ago by a typhoon which destroyed many people’s homes and left thousands dead or injured. The school had a non-uniform day and pupils brought in money for the Philippines. Over 1,583 euro  was raised by the pupils and teachers. We also had
