Christmas in Junior Infants 2018

We’ve been very busy making decorations, singing in the church, playing in our Christmas area and getting VERY exited about Christmas.


Christmas in Junior Infants

We’ve been very busy in Junior Infants preparing for Christmas. We have a crib and an Advent sack. We have angels flying across the classroom, Christmas photos, Christmas trees and glittery baubles and stockings. Our Aistear theme is Santa land we’ve wrapped presents, decorated the sleigh, dressed up as Santa, loaded the sleigh and checked and made a lot of lists.

Christmas Cup Tree

The pupils and staff in The Glen have spent the last couple of weeks creating a special Christmas Tree. The tree is made from plastic cups which are glued to circles of corrugated plastic. All of the cups were first covered in different shades of green, using tissue paper and crepe paper. We cut out different sizes of circles of corrugated plastic and glued

Christmas Carol Service

Our annual Christmas Carol Service took place in Ransboro Church on Tuesday December 20th. All pupils from Junior Infants to 6th class took part in the service. The service told the story of the Nativity, interspersed with carols, both traditional and modern. As usual, our Junior Infants were dressed as angels and our Senior Infants were dressed as shepherds. They sang two songs together.

Christmas Charity Donations

During our Christmas Nativity Service in Ransboro Church on Thursday December 18th, a collection took place amongst the congregation. The school would like to thank the parents, grandparents, relations and friends of the pupils of the school for their most generous donations towards the most needy in our society this Christmas. The collection was divided evenly between the Sligo Social Services and the Society

Christmas Nativity Service

All pupils from the school took part in our annual Nativity Service in Ransboro Church on Thursday December 18th. Parents, grandparents and friends joined us in the church to watch the pupils retell the story of the Nativity. This year, we decided to tell the story of the birth of Jesus through verse. Advent Table Quiz

On Wednesday afternoon this week, all the pupils in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class went to the hall to take part in an Advent Table Quiz. Christmas Art

1st Class have been very busy making beautiful art pieces for the Christmas season. They created a winter scene using crepe paper and paint, Santa and his reindeer flying over a moonlit sky using paint, and they also made some clay ornaments for their Christmas tree.
