Butterfly Release!

Junior Infants were able to release 4 butterflies out in the Glen’s garden. The children really enjoyed getting to watch our class pets go from tiny caterpillars to beautiful Painted Lady butterflies!!


Irish Coastguard 1st Class

Mad Hair Day

          We had a wonderful day today fundraising for ‘The Sligo Cancer Support Centre’. The children and staff alike went to great lengths in creating crazy hair! Thanks for all who supported.


Summer Drinks!

We made summer drinks in art.  We decided what flavour our drinks would be, added two full slices and two half slices of lemon, ice cubes and straws to our drinks. We also tasted some fruit flavoured drinks in class and talked about the importance of staying hydrated in this lovely sunny weather! Senior Infants  


Active School Week – fun and movement

Mickey Downs put all the classes through their paces, junior infants to 2nd enjoyed a variety of activities and 3rd to 6th tried circuit training.


Caterpillars to Butterflies

Last week the Junior Infant class gained 5 little tiny pet caterpillars. After a week and half of eating, eating and more eating they are not so tiny anymore!!! The children love looking at them each day to see them grow.


Butterflies – Third Class

The children created pretty artwork last week using paper, card and paint. They all had fun creating unique and colourful butterflies.


Chinese New Year 2016

It was Chinese New Year on the 8th of February. 1st Class took part in a number of activities to acknowledge the famous festival. They learned a lot about the weeks long festival. Such as- Each year is named after an animal. This year, 2016, is named after the monkey. There is an ancient story written about how different years were named after animals. The

Easter Egg Hunt

1st Class were very ‘eggcited’ to discover that they would be doing an Easter Egg Hunt outside today. The beautiful sunshine helped them in searching for their Easter themed tokens. They quickly found all the tokens and then on return to the classroom they cashed them in for various different prizes. They had a lot of fun! Happy Easter everyone, and enjoy the holidays.
