We made marshmallow snowmen!

We made melted snowmen out of marshmallows and decorated them .Our snowman sat on chocolate swissroll.The best part was eating them .!!!!! We made little cribs , Christmas trees and Christmas stockings.

An Nollaig

The children in 4th Class have been doing a drama ‘as Gaeilge’ portraying the story of the first Christmas. 2nd and 3rd Classes came to watch them act it out. Well done to all! In Art the children also drew and painted the Nativity Scene. They turned out beautifully!


Polar Regions

We’ve enjoyed our topic on the Arctic and Antarctic. In class we’ve had a Polar Regions library with books to read and examples of various animals that inhabit the Polar Regions. We created our own books on polar bears and penguins. In art we painted an adult emperor penguin or a chick, recreated some Inuit art and made a scene showing a polar bear

Junior Infants Inuit Style

For the last 4 weeks the Junior Infants have been learning all about the Arctic. Our gazebo got a makeover!

First Class worked as a team to give our gazebo a ‘new look’!  It has been transformed into an Igloo!  This is to enhance our role play area, for our Arctic theme, which is running throughout the school this month!


Sewing

The children started sewing in 4th Class. First they learned how to ‘backstitch’. Once they had all mastered that skill, they could start on their art piece. They traced a hand print from either their grandparents or parents. They then drew that hand print onto hessian material.
