Papier Mache

We have been making papier mache over the past few weeks. We had to bring in a bowl or vase covered in cling film to use as a mould. We used cling film to prevent the papier mache from sticking to the bowl. We used a mixture of PVA glue and water to stick strips of newspaper onto the bowl. We had to put

The Normans

We studied the Norman invasion of Ireland in History. We learned all about why the Normans came to Ireland in the first place, towns they conquered, new towns they established, new farming practices they brought, Norman surnames, pastimes and Norman forts and castles. We each then completed a written project on The Normans using the information we learned at school along with our own individual research.

We opened up the page and a nice coloured butterfly appeared. We let them dry overnight. Next day we cut them out and we stuck on a body,

We used orange, yellow, blue, red, green and purple paint. Then we took the string out of the paint and put it on the piece of paper. Then we folded the paper over. We opened the paper

Pop Art Using iPod Touch

In June we did some work in the Visual Arts curriculum about Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement in the 1960′s. We used Google Images to look at and respond to some images from this period in art history. We paid particular attention to the structure of pieces of art created during this period and especially how common, everyday objects were used to

School Cookbook

Our school has just finished creating a cookbook. It has all sorts of recipes in it – starters, main courses, desserts and cakes and breads. The pupils designed pictures for a competition to illustrate the cookbook. One picture was chosen for the cover of the cookbook. It was designed by Ciara H in 5th class. There are more illustrations inside the cookbook. On Friday
