Dear Parents,

Grandparents Day

We are looking forward to welcoming grandparents to the school tomorrow for a short service of thanksgiving at 1.15.

If there are grandparents who play an instrument or sing or have any other talent such as reciting a short story or a poem, we warmly invite you to do so tomorrow for the children at the end of the service. Please do not be shy about it, the children would be delighted and you can approach myself or some of the staff before the service and let me know and I will invite you to do it at the end. Also grandparents are very welcome to go to the class of their grandchild/children afterwards and speak to the children, perhaps share something of interest from your childhood etc; We will also have tea/coffee in the hall for the parents/grandparents after the service.

Text re. Ikea

Thank you to the parents who generously responded to our plea to collect our chairs! Ronan Hennessy is kindly picking them up for us, and thank you to the other parents who offered. We are making our front foyer more welcoming and are putting two armchairs and a little table there with a folder of information about our school, so people can wait in comfort.

Ceramic Craft Project

Sincere thanks to Michael Stenson who has kindly erected the magnificent ceramic pieces produced by Mrs. O Rourke’s 3/4th class last year (now 4th and 5th classes) These are ceramic 3D depictions of well known Irish myths and legends. They are truly spectacular. The display is not completely finished yet, with some frames still to be hung and also a plaque to be erected as a heading for the display, however we invite you to please take a look. What a lovely entrance to our school. Many congratulations to Mrs. O Rourke, Rachel Quinn(artist) and the children involved.

Junior Spider Award

We have entered this prestigious competition in the category of best school website. We are also entering for school blog and class blog categories. We will keep you informed of any developments. We have placed our Digital Schools Award plaque in our front hall, please pop in and see it!

Thank you all for the ongoing support,

Siobhán Clarke
