On Friday we worked with our buddies. As part of our Aistear topic (the home corner) we made houses by colouring a house outline, drawing around shapes for the doors, windows and chimneys and sticking them in the right place. We also told them the story from our reading books. We really enjoyed working with our buddies.
After our walk on Thursday our buddies came back to class with us. We drew a picture of them and they drew a picture of us.
On Thursday we went for a walk on the track around the Gaelic pitch with our Buddies in 6th class and the children from the Glen. We had a great time chatting to our buddies as we walked and had to find out their name and favourite colour. We wore our high vis vests.
In First Class we are learning all about Autumn and harvest time. We made some scarecrows in art. “We had lots of fun making them”, Warren. “We had a lot of cleaning up to do afterwards, the straw was very messy”, Róisín Here are some photos….
We have all settled in really well. Although we’ve only been in school for seven days we’ve been really busy – playing, working, settling into a routine, making friends and exercising to Gonoodle. We’ve had our first Gaelic coaching session, been to our first assembly and our first school mass, done a tour of the school, played in the soft play area and visited the school

Last Thursday, Aoibhínn Buckley came into school and gave all classes a dance lesson. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. We learned the steps to the dance ‘I like to move it, move it,’! Thank you so much Aoibhínn for volunteering your time to teach us some cool dance moves, we hope to try them out over the summer!
