Room on the Broom

Junior and Senior Infants went to the Hawks Well Theatre on Mon March 27th to see Room on the Broom. Afterwards they went to Kevinsfort playground for lunch and play time! The children loved Room on the Broom and were very lucky to get such a nice sunny day at the park!


Spring Lambs Visit Infant Classes

We had a special visit today. Two lambs-Lisa and Casey, came into school. We all got to rub their fur-it was soft.They ran around the courtyard and into our playhouse. We learned that the lambs drink 1 litre of milk a day-that’s the same as 4 bottles.It was great fun. .  


Farm Shop and Smoothie Bar!

Our Aistear theme for this month is a Farm Shop!  We sell healthy, fresh local produce in our shop! We are learning all about The Farm, farm animals, healthy eating, the food pyramid and lots more!! See some photos below…


Pyjama Day for Temple St. Hospital

    We had a Pyjama Day today for Temple st. Hospital. We wore our pyjamas to school and were snug and warm all day! Kyle is going to Temple St next week and we raised 220 euros to send with him as a thank you to the doctors and nurses for caring for sick children. We had hot chocolate and buns today as

Spring has Sprung!

We are delighted to see Spring has arrived and we’re watching out for signs of spring everywhere! Here is some of our spring art so far….  


Our Pet Mice!

We read the novel, Happy Mouseday by Dick King-Smith. We wanted to have our own pet mouse so we made one out of clay! Check them out…..      


We made marshmallow snowmen!

We made melted snowmen out of marshmallows and decorated them .Our snowman sat on chocolate swissroll.The best part was eating them .!!!!! We made little cribs , Christmas trees and Christmas stockings.


Christmas Carol Service

Our annual Christmas Carol Service took place in Ransboro Church on Tuesday December 20th. All pupils from Junior Infants to 6th class took part in the service. The service told the story of the Nativity, interspersed with carols, both traditional and modern. As usual, our Junior Infants were dressed as angels and our Senior Infants were dressed as shepherds. They sang two songs together.

New Soft Play Area

As part of the re-development of the school in 2015, we made provision for a Soft Play area at the rear of the school. At the time, our funding only allowed us to provide a large climbing frame in this area, although we had planned out the rest of the area.
