We made Christmas stockings from felt. First, we picked the colour for our stocking and then we sewed them with gold thread! We stuck on a white trim and decorated them with stickers, felt, hearts, stars and glitter! We love our stockings and we wonder will Santa see them on Christmas Eve! We made some gingerbread men and women in school! Ms. Greene and Ms. McGrath took a small group of us to the kitchen to bake! We measured out all the ingredients and followed the recipe. Our school choir will be participating in the Sligo Christmas Fayre on Saturday December 8th in Stephen St. Car Park in Sligo. We’ve been practising the songs and carols in school that we will be singing at the Christmas Fayre.
The dates for the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation for 2013 have been confirmed. Bishop Christopher Jones will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation for Ransboro and Strandhill schools in Ransboro Church on Thursday May 16th at 11am. First Communion will be celebrated on Saturday May 18th at 11am in Ransboro Church. We send best wishes to those preparing for these sacraments.
Before Hallowe’en, Junior and Senior Infants had a visit from the dentist, Mrs. Siobhán Fitzgerald. Mrs. Fitzgerald talked to us about our teeth and what dentists do! Mrs. Fitzgerald brought in lots of great dental equipment for us, we were so excited! We are having so much fun using this equipment in our dental surgery and we use a two minute sand timer at home to make sure that we brush our teeth for two minutes!
