We raised some money for the bumbleance service, special ambulances for children. On Wednesday a bumbleace visited school so we could see the service we helped. We all went into the bumbleance and saw how comfortable and child friendly it was inside.
Congratulations to Anna McDaniel who won the final of the kicking competition in Collooney on Wednesday. She was the outright winner after missing only one of her kicks.
We’ve been working out in our gym during Aistear. We had our own membership cards and checked in with the receptionist each visit. The receptionist was in charge of timing us and telling us to move to different exercises.
Well done to all the children who took part in the amigos Gaelic skills challenge. The girls team consisted of Anna, Ellen, Lauren and Susannah and Hubert, Jack and Stefan represented the boys. We painted lambs and used chalk for the grass and marker to add the facial features. We also used our colouring, cutting, matching and sticking skills to make chicks.
We had pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. Some of us had plain pancakes others had syrup or a squeeze of orange and some had both.
As part of our science topic we were looking at air – how we know it’s there and how we can change things or move items using air. We made bubble paintings by blowing into a mixture of paint and bubble mix. We then drew round and cut out flowers and a butterfly and stuck them on a background to make spring scenes.
Cuir éadaí ar an líne. Our topic in Irish at the moment is Éadaí. We took it in turns to tell our partners what to put on their washing line.
During science we talked about how the air is all around us and how we can sometimes feel it and hear it moving. We read The Wind Blew a story about the wind blowing lots of different items into the air. We tried to move different items by blowing down straws to move the air.
