The CraftEd project has begun in 3rd class. It is a collaborative project between an artist, the class teacher and the students. This year the theme is Yeats. We are focusing on three poems : The lake Isle of Innisfree, He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven and The song of Wandering Aengus.
In week one we analysed the three poems and the children drew pictures based on the poems. In week two the artist demonstrated how to create a picture using felt. The children loved this new method and enjoyed the process.
We have three more two hour lessons and we hope to create a group piece using the felt.
