Harvest Time at Ransboro!

7th Oct 2016

We were gardening today in school, we harvested some beetroot!

The beetroot is purple with green leaves.  It grew in the soil from a seed.

Seamus showed us some potatoes, white and red onions which he harvested earlier in September.

The peas will be ready next week, we tasted some, they were delicious!

We also tasted mint and chives!

Here are some comments from the children in First Class;

“I pulled out a really big beetroot!”, Sadhbh.

“I liked the taste of the peas”, Patrick.

“The peas grew very big”, Jack Mc.

“I loved the flavour of the peas”, Darragh.

Isabel and Aoibhinn liked the smell of the mint!

Aoibhe and Romilly Rose liked the taste of the chives.
