Cumann na mBunscol Champions

Our boys Gaelic football team won the Cumann na mBunscol championship after an exciting final against Rathcormac National School in Markievicz Park last Sunday. The boys reached the final after an extra time one point win against Grange NS in the semi-final. The final itself was a very tight affair with the teams level at half time. Try-a-Tri

Congratulations to all the children who participated in the try-a-tri event on Friday 21 October. The event was run by Triathlon Ireland in conjunction with Youth Sport West and Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership. It was extremely well organised and a great experience for all involved. The children got a real sense of achievement from completing the event and receiving their medals.   


Sligo Primary Schools Cross Country

Well done to everyone who represented the school at the Sligo Primary Schools Cross Country on Saturday 8th October at Sligo I.T. We entered a team in each of the 4 categories – Junior Girls, Junior Boys (3rd and 4th classes) and Senior Girls and Senior Boys (5th and 6th classes). Ireland’s Fastest Feet

On Sunday 11th September a number of children from 1st and 2nd classes entered Sligo’s leg of Ireland’s Fastest Feet at the Regional Sports Complex. The children had the opportunity to run 20m through speed gates. The children all ran very well and received certificates for their efforts. We need to wait to see if any of the children make it through to the finals

Our school Sports Day was held on Monday June 13th, 2016. Weather conditions were perfect to allow the pupils to partake in the sports outdoors for the full day. Girls Win Cumann na mBunscol Final

Our girls football team won our section of the Cumann na mBunscol on finals day in Markievicz Park on Saturday June 11th. Claiming the title for the first time in five years, the girls defeated a spirited side from St. John’s NS, Ballisodare. The children in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th looked at the basic technique of chi running in the hall and then put it into practice on the astro turf.

GAA Amigos Skills Challenge

Congratulations to Liam, Cormac, Andrew and Jamie who won the Sligo final of the GAA Amigos skills challenge. The challenge was held in Summerhill College on Thursday 3rd March. Twelve schools from around the county participated with four players on each team. Teams were tested on their soloing, kick passing and point scoring ability.
