Athletics Fest

There is usually great excitement in September about the SuperValu Athletics Fest organised by Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership. This year it was slightly different as it was a stay local event. Each 100m relay team was timed by the coach as was each individual 200m runner.  Instead of passing the baton it was dropped into a bucket and the next runner picked up

Virtual Sports Day Running

Children ran in straight forward running races with varying distances. Sligo Primary Schools Cross Country

Well done to everyone who represented the school at the Sligo Primary Schools Cross Country on Saturday 8th October at Sligo I.T. We entered a team in each of the 4 categories – Junior Girls, Junior Boys (3rd and 4th classes) and Senior Girls and Senior Boys (5th and 6th classes). Active School Week – combined marathon

A number of older classes attempted to run a combined marathon with each pupil attempting to run at least 1k. The younger children ran/walked a shorter distance.


Biathlon

On Saturday 13th December a number of children from the school participated in a biathlon competition. They ran 800metres on the track at Sligo IT and later in the day swam 2 lengths of the pool at the sports complex. In between events they had the opportunity to try fencing and laser shooting. Sligo Schools Cross Country

Well done to all the children who participated in the Sligo Schools Cross Country competition on Saturday 11 October. It was the first time the school had entered the competition and all of the children ran very well. Particular congratulations to the junior boys team who came first and qualified for the Connaught Primary Schools Cross Country on 18th October and to Kayla Kiernan
