Try-a-Tri

On Thursday 26th October a number of children from 3rd to 6th class took part in a Try-a-Tri event an initiative run by Triathlon Ireland and Sligo Sports and Recreation at Sligo Sports Complex and Cleveragh Regional Park. The event consisted of a 50m swim, a 1,500m cycle and a run of 800m with all the children enjoying the challenge.


Sligo Cross Country

On Saturday 30th September a number of children participated in the Sligo Cross Country Competition. The senior boys and girls teams ran 1,200m and the junior boys and girls 1,000m. All the children performed well, with everyone completing their race on a challenging muddy course. Athletics Fest

Congratulations to all the children who competed in the Athletics Fest in the I.T. Sligo. Everyone ran well and enjoyed the day. An extra well done to the junior boys and senior girls teams who both won their respective competitions.


Junior Infants Enjoying P.E.

On Friday morning we went outside for P.E. We enjoyed playing a games using the hoops and ran our two laps of the astro.


GAA Amigos Skills Challenge

Congratulations to Liam, Cormac, Andrew and Jamie who won the Sligo final of the GAA Amigos skills challenge. The challenge was held in Summerhill College on Thursday 3rd March. Twelve schools from around the county participated with four players on each team. Teams were tested on their soloing, kick passing and point scoring ability. Try-aTri

Well done to everyone who participated in the try-a-tri on Thursday 22nd October organised by Sligo Triathlon Club, Youth Sport West and Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership. The running club is going well, there are some very enthusiastic runners and every one is trying to improve their own style, speed, fitness and distance. Athletics Fest

On Friday 25th of September, the annual Athletics Fest was held in the Sligo I.T. Selections of pupils from 3rd – 6th class were chosen to represent Ransboro N.S. Athletics Fest

Well done to all the children who competed in the Athletics Fest at Knocknarea Arena on Friday 17th October. A total of 36 children from our school competed in the event. All competitors performed very well with three of our nine relay teams reaching the final of their events. Rugby Coaching

                Fifth and sixth classes have just completed a four week block of rugby coaching. This coaching was provided by trained coaches supplied by Connacht Rugby. Children had the option of playing full contact or tag rugby with a separate coach for each discipline. Some of the skills worked on were handling, passing, creation of space and evasion
