Sligo Schools Cross Country

Well done to all the children who participated in the Sligo Schools Cross Country competition on Saturday 11 October. It was the first time the school had entered the competition and all of the children ran very well. Table Quiz

The annual table quiz was held in the school hall on Wednesday 18th June. The winning team consisted of Emma (4th Class), Shane (2nd Class), Alex (3rd Class) and Mark (3rd class). The quiz raised €245 and this will go towards the cost of the 6th class year book. A big thank you to the organiser Brendan O’Loughlin and everyone who sponsored spot prizes.


New Building

Construction work on the new extension to the school will commence tomorrow, Monday May 19th. Builders will be accessing the school site through the church yard, thanks to the kind co-operation of Fr. Mc Crann. From Monday, there will be no parking facilities for parents in the church yard. Irish Myths and Legends Ceramic Art

3rd & 4th class last year completed a beautiful ceramic art installation on the theme of Irish Myths and Legends with the ceramicist Rachel Quinn. Rachel recently completed a ceramic heading for the installation and this can be seen in the porch inside the front door. This really enhances the appearance of the installation and is a great addition to our school.

Friendship Squad

This year 5th class are involved in Friendship Squad. 6th class are helping out because there are not enough children in 5th. This year there is lots of brilliant new equipment for all the classes. We have space hoppers, lots of dice, chalk, bean bags, a giant target board, a giant chess set, a snakes and ladders game and lots more fun toys. Friendship
