Ireland’s Fastest Feet

On Sunday 11th September a number of children from 1st and 2nd classes entered Sligo’s leg of Ireland’s Fastest Feet at the Regional Sports Complex. The children had the opportunity to run 20m through speed gates. The children all ran very well and received certificates for their efforts. Coast Guard Helicopter Visit

The helicopter from the Strandhill-based Coast Guard visited the school on Tuesday June 7th, 2016. All of the pupils gathered at the nearby GAA pitch and watched as the helicopter appeared on the horizon, circled around and then landed carefully in the middle of the pitch. Mad Hair Day

Staff and pupils at Ransboro National School recently enjoyed great fun as they modelled a wide variety of interesting hair creations for their “Mad Hair Day” in aid of Sligo Cancer Support Centre. Knocknarea Attendance Board

Ransboro National School is an amalgamation of two previous national schools in the parish, namely Knocknarea NS and Kilmacowen NS. Our school opened in 1981 with the closure of these two schools. Green School Competition

The green school committee organised a competition in November where children had to come up with a slogan to promote biodiversity.  The entries were to be in by the 12th of December.  We received a great response and we got many great slogans and also great artwork. 5K Fun Run/Walk

On next Saturday, November 22nd, a Fun Run/Walk will take place on the roads around Ransboro in memory of the late Don Goodwin, whose first anniversary takes place around this time.
