On Friday morning we made our own pizzas. Breda Heffernan helped us, she brought in balls of dough which we flattened to make the bases, we then put on tomato sauce and our choice of toppings – cheese, ham, tomato and salami. The pizzas went into the oven to cook. We ate them outside. Thank you Breda we really enjoyed making pizzas.
Today we had a visit from Eimear Cleary in connection with our Aistear topic – The Dentist. We looked at how different drinks affect our teeth and how to clean our teeth properly. We learned that some foods are bad for our teeth if we eat them too often and that we should brush our teeth twice a day. We counted out the amount

We made spring flowers in Junior Infants. We drew round shapes, cut them out and glued them. .
We made ‘feeling faces’ with our buddies from 6th class. We decided what type of emotion we wanted to show and why our person felt like that. Our buddies helped us choose and cut the different materials we used.
This week we read The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl. On Friday afternoon we made stretchy crocodiles with our buddies from 6th Class.
We played different maths games recently to practice turn taking, counting, matching, memorising, comparing and winning and losing graciously.
We painted snowmen. We put on eyes, a nose, a mouth and buttons, then we chose a colour for a scarf. Some of us put a hat and arms on our snowmen.
We’ve been very busy in Junior Infants preparing for Christmas. We have a crib and an Advent sack. We have angels flying across the classroom, Christmas photos, Christmas trees and glittery baubles and stockings. Our Aistear theme is Santa land we’ve wrapped presents, decorated the sleigh, dressed up as Santa, loaded the sleigh and checked and made a lot of lists.
In connection with our Aistear topic (travel and in particular the train) a train driver visited us last week. He told us lots about his job and the trains he drives. He brought some of his equipment with him and we were able to try some of it out. We watched a video taken from the front of the train so we could see
