We enjoyed using our drumming skills this morning. We were a great drumming band.
On Friday our buddies from 6th class worked with us. They helped us make giraffes and we talked about the different body parts and the colours we used.
We’ve enjoyed different activities as part of our Aistear topic on Africa. We’ve been on safari – buying tickets, checking the map and spotting various animals with our binoculars in the jeep and checking them off on our list. We’ve also used different materials to create our own savannahs for African animals.
On Friday we enjoyed playing different games in class. We are learning to play independently, take turns, follow the rules, play fairly and win and lose graciously.
On the last day of the half term we dressed up in our Halloween costumes. We enjoyed showing our costumes off to each other.
Aistear is going well in Junior Infants. At the moment our role play area is the home corner so we are very busy minding babies, cooking, ironing, hovering, washing clothes and setting the table. We are also involved in junk art, construction and small world play.
We made buns with our buddies and Mr Quinn in The Glen. Our buddies helped us put in the butter, flour and eggs. We then put the mixture in bun cases and left them to bake. Our buddies iced them for us. They were delicious. Thank you Mr Quinn and 6th Class.
On Friday we worked with our buddies. As part of our Aistear topic (the home corner) we made houses by colouring a house outline, drawing around shapes for the doors, windows and chimneys and sticking them in the right place. We also told them the story from our reading books. We really enjoyed working with our buddies.
After our walk on Thursday our buddies came back to class with us. We drew a picture of them and they drew a picture of us.
