We had a Wimbledon style afternoon of fun on June 25th. We played tennis and enjoyed ice-cream and strawberries. Nixie- “I thought it was really cool as we got to experience what Wimbledon is like”. Ronan -“I liked having ice-cream and I got lots of energy out of it for the tennis”.
We were very busy during active week. We tried lots of different activities including yoga, orienteering, space hoppers, scooters and the parachute. We also went for walks/runs with fourth class and fifth class.
On Friday all the children who participated in the Cumann na mBunscol competition were treated to pizza for representing the school. Their attitude was also rewarded as the school won the Fair Play Award for schools in our group as well as the overall county award for fair play. Well done to everyone.
Well done to the boys team that played in the Cumann na mBunscol final on Saturday in Tubbercurry. They came up against a very good team from Grange and unfortunately lost however they kept going until the final whistle. A special thank you to Gerry Kilfeather for coaching the boys.
On May 28th we went on a retreat to Knock. We had a very enjoyable day taking part in many activities. We got a tour around all the churches, prayed and chatted with our leader Mairéad, visited the history museum and got to fill bottles of Holy water and bring them home with us.
The mini league should start on Tuesday 10th June after bad weather and Cumann na mBunscol games delayed the start. A proposed timetable is below. Congratulations to the boys’ football team on reaching the Cumann na mBunscol final which will be held on Saturday 15th June in Kilcoyne Park Tubbercurry. Well done also to the girls who represented the school in the group stage of the competition.
