Pumpkin Monsters in Junior Infants
We made pumpkin monsters for Halloween. First we painted the pumpkins then we drew around templates for the mouths and eyes, cut them out and stuck them onto our pumpkins. Some of us decided to add teeth.

Well done to the senior boys team (James Lynch, Oisín Choo, Matthew Keeley, Bríain Cullinane, Finn McDaniel) that took part in the Connacht Cross Country Finals in Longford. Thank you to our young supporters and the parents who made the trip to Longford to cheer the boys on.

On Wednesday we looked at the Safe Cross Code video and tried on our HiVis vests. We went for a walk with 6th class to try them out. We also had a run around the astro.

Well done to all the runners who participated in the Sligo Schools Cross Country in Rathcormac today. Everyone completed the tough course and managed a smile at the end. Congratulations to all the children who took part in the Athletics Fest for Primary Schools in I.T. Sligo Athletics Arena on Thursday 26th September. The children participated in the 100m relays, 200m and the shot putt. All the children were a credit to the school and despite the weather enjoyed the day. We have been studying Japan over the past couple of weeks. We got the school laptops and researched different topics about Japan. We enjoyed doing this work. Today we created a podcast based on the information that we found out about Japan. We used the Audacity software to record the podcast. Then we converted it into an MP3 and posted it on our SoundCloud

4th class went to Parke’s Castle today. We learned a lot. They had a moate. The O’Rourkes owned it. I like the Salley moate. it was a secret entrance. We were allowed in to the old sauna. We had good fun. By Harry and Jack
