Easter Egg Hunt

1st Class were very ‘eggcited’ to discover that they would be doing an Easter Egg Hunt outside today. The beautiful sunshine helped them in searching for their Easter themed tokens. They quickly found all the tokens and then on return to the classroom they cashed them in for various different prizes. They had a lot of fun! Happy Easter everyone, and enjoy the holidays.


We love to read!

1st Class just love to read! And since our new library has opened there has been great excitement about our library slot on a Monday. The children picked their favourite book and drew the front cover onto some card. Farmyard Nativity 1st Class

Farmer John visited our school once again yesterday. This time he brought a nativity scene with him. The children listened to and sequenced the Christmas Story, and then got the opportunity to explore a crib with lots of different animals. We had so much fun!

The children in 1st Class brought in an item that was very special to them when they were babies. 2-D Shape Hunt using the I-pods

1st Class went on a 2D Shape Hunt using the I pods this week. The children explored the entire school yard in the search of circles, semi-circles, squares, rectangles and triangles. When they found a shape they liked they took a picture of it and recorded what they took the picture of. Here are some of the pictures we took.    


Titanic

Last month, first class were learning all about the famous ship disaster ‘The Titanic’. Although the story was very sad, the children found it very interesting and were very eager to find out more. 1st Class were very lucky to have Claire Scott, a parent of a child in their class, volunteer to show the class the process in which cheese is made.
