This year 1st and 2nd Class went to ‘Castle Adventure’ farm and playground in Ballyshannon.
It really was a tour to remember! The children had a smile on their face from the moment they got on the bus to the moment they returned. There was a wide selection of animals for the children to see and learn about…and even pet! The children became very excited when they saw a barn owl that features in our novel ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’ -Plop!
The children were then treated to a ‘barrel ride’ around the field- which has lots of hills and bumps! They each sat in a barrel with wheels and were brought by a quad forming a train of barrels. They were heard laughing and shouting for miles!
After their barrel ride the children got hot food, a choice between- chicken nuggets, fish fingers or sausages, all with chips. They loved getting hot food.
When they regained their energy they then got to go out to the play area where they had a wide choice of equipment to use.
