Children’s Book Festival

Children's Book FestivalSligo’s first ever Children’s Book Festival takes place from March 1st to 5th to co-incide with World Book Day on March 7th. This exciting new festival is brought to you by the Hawk’s Well Theatre, The Model and Kid’s Own Publishing. There are events taking place in both the Hawk’s Well Theatre and The Model over the course of the few days which should be of interest to parents and pupils.

Pupils from the school will be visiting the Hawk’s Well Theatre to see a production of “Rabhlaí Rabhlaí“, a show which presents this book of traditional children’s rhymes and poems which have been set to music. Pupils from many different schools in Sligo are participating in the production, including two of our own Rang I pupils.

This coincides with Seachtain na Gaeilge which is also taking place around this time, so it is an opportune time for our pupils to listen to rhymes as Gaeilge in a theatre setting.

More information on the other shows and events taking place to celebrate the Children’s Book Festival can be found on the Hawk’s Well Theatre and The Model websites.
