Spring Flowers

Pupils from The Glen have been doing some work about Spring.They made some Spring flowers using painted handprints which they really enjoyed. They then cut out the flowers, stems and leaves and displayed them on the wall.


Winter and Christmas Art Work

Pupils in The Glen have been busy helping to create some great pieces of art on our theme of Winter/Christmas. Firstly. they dipped their feet into black paint to create this great Footprint Penguins display. They really enjoyed painting with their feet! 5K Fun Run/Walk

On next Saturday, November 22nd, a Fun Run/Walk will take place on the roads around Ransboro in memory of the late Don Goodwin, whose first anniversary takes place around this time. Don’s family, past pupils of the school, have organised this Fun Run/Walk in his memory and have generously decided to donate the proceeds to The Glen which houses our autism unit. The run/walk

3D Shapes

Pupils in The Glen have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes over the past couple of weeks. We learned the names of the different shapes and did some work on them. We also made some of the shapes using polydron. Today we constructed some 3D shapes using mini marshmallows and cocktail sticks. We made cubes, cuboids, square pyramids and triangular pyramids. Ceramic Art Work

Pupils in The Glen recently did some workshops with ceramic artist Gráinne Mc Loughlin in Breeogue Pottery. They created these decorative ceramic plates which were then glazed and fired in the kiln. They have also created, with Gráinne’s assistance, a unique sun-dial which will be displayed in the garden of the new Glen building when it is completed in the Spring of 2015. The

New Building

Construction work on the new extension to the school will commence tomorrow, Monday May 19th. Builders will be accessing the school site through the church yard, thanks to the kind co-operation of Fr. Mc Crann. From Monday, there will be no parking facilities for parents in the church yard. We had a very special surprise visitor this afternoon to The Glen – Larry the Lamb. Our neighbour Lennie brought Larry over to see us. She brought him over in a cardboard box in her car.
