Electricity-3rd Class

Third Class were learning about electricity over the last few weeks in Science. We spoke about renewable sources of energy, safety in relation to electricity, batteries, conductors and insulators. The children then carried out a number of experiments. They made circuits and investigated what materials in the classroom were good insulators and conductors of electricity. They also investigated how static electricity works.

Learning about Electricity

Electrical Circuits   Last Friday we made electrical circuits. The class was split into 5 groups. Each group was given a basket with wires, batteries, bulbs, a battery holder and a bulb holder.                  Each group then worked out how to connect the wires and battery in order to light the bulb. We came up with lots of different versions!                Some groups

Electricity

A few weeks ago we focussed on electricity. We worked in groups. We started by getting some wires, batteries, a bulb and crocodile clips. Then we made a circuit, starting with the battery and attaching the crocodile clips to the battery and the wires to see if we could bet the bulb to light. All groups were able to get a bulb working once.
