Apple Art Work

After reading Apples by Gale Gibson we created a lovely apple art project. In this project the children used a lot of techniques: tracing, painting, cutting and pasting. While painting with red and yellow we discussed how mixing these colours created the colour orange. The children then added value to the work by gluing hessian  down for their apples to sit on.  It is amazing

Second Class and Van Gogh

We read about Vincent Van Gogh, looked at some of his paintings and wrote about him independently. During art we painted our own versions of The Starry Night. First of all we used sponges  and watery paint for the background when that had dried we painted on the stars, moon, tree and buildings.

Third Class Chalk Drawings

We tried to use our previous experience of pencil drawings to use shade and shadow to create form in our drawings.
