We made spring flowers in Junior Infants. We drew round shapes, cut them out and glued them. .

We made ‘feeling faces’ with our buddies from 6th class. We decided what type of emotion we wanted to show and why our person felt like that. Our buddies helped us choose and cut the different materials we used.
We made Valentine’s Day clay love hearts in class. We then painted them and wrapped them up nicely to bring home to our loved ones. We also learned about the life of Saint Valentine. This week we read The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl. On Friday afternoon we made stretchy crocodiles with our buddies from 6th Class.
We painted snowmen. We put on eyes, a nose, a mouth and buttons, then we chose a colour for a scarf. Some of us put a hat and arms on our snowmen.
Last week we painted trains then our buddies helped us to stick on different shapes for the wheels, funnels and engines.
We have enjoyed many Art lessons so far this term. The strands we focused on are: drawing, paint and colour, fabric and fibre. Here is a selection of their good work.
We’ve settled into Junior Infants very well and have had a busy few days – playing, touring the school, painting, listening to stories, working and learning some of the routines of ‘big school’.
We read the novel, Happy Mouseday by Dick King-Smith. We wanted to have our own pet mouse so we made one out of clay! Check them out…..
