Trains and Buddies in Junior Infants

Last week we painted trains then our buddies helped us to stick on different shapes for the wheels, funnels and engines.

Junior Infants – First Two Days

Our Pet Mice!

We read the novel, Happy Mouseday by Dick King-Smith. We wanted to have our own pet mouse so we made one out of clay! Check them out…..      


Wind Socks

During our topic on weather. Polar Regions

We’ve enjoyed our topic on the Arctic and Antarctic. In class we’ve had a Polar Regions library with books to read and examples of various animals that inhabit the Polar Regions. We created our own books on polar bears and penguins. In art we painted an adult emperor penguin or a chick, recreated some Inuit art and made a scene showing a polar bear

Antarctic Art

We looked carefully at some pictures of emperor penguins – the shapes and colours. We chose whether to paint an adult or a chick.


Arctic Art

Inuit art We looked at some examples of Inuit Art then tried our own versions.   Polar Bears under the Northern Lights First of all we used a purple and then a blue wash. After that we stuck cling film on the blue to create an icy look.  We used sparkly paint for the Northern Lights. Last of all we cut out a polar

The Model Gallery

Blog post written by Sarah  We went to the Model Art Gallery on the 10th of November 2016 and it was amazing! The building used to be a school but then a family bought it. Later they gave it to Sligo County Council and they made it into an art gallery. We went on a tour there. Our tour guide’s name was Chelsea Canavan.
