Active School Week – fun and movement

Mickey Downs put all the classes through their paces, junior infants to 2nd enjoyed a variety of activities and 3rd to 6th tried circuit training.


Active School Week – Irish Dancing

1st and 3rd class had a great time with Siobhan learning some steps or showing of their dancing ability.


Active School Week – Dance

All the classes were paired up to learn a dance with Aoibhín Buckley and enjoyed showing off their dance moves.


Active School Week – Soccer

Junior and Senior Infants worked on their soccer skills with Jim Sheridan, second class worked with Benny O’Loughlin and third class with Paul Keavney. All the classes had a great time.


Sports Day -Third Class

On June 16th we took part in the annual school sports day. The children took part in lots of activities, for example wheel barrow races, long jump, relays, welly throw and an obstacle course. Here are a few pictures from the day.


Connacht Dancing Championship

  Last Friday, I won 2 Cups and 5 medals in the Connacht Dancing Championships.  I did two heavy shoe dances and two light shoe dances.  I got lots of photographs taken and I stood on a podium.

Badminton Lesson

On Wednesday 19th January, 3rd class did a badminton lesson in the halla after school. We were supposed to do volleyball but the man who was coming to do volleyball couldn’t come because he was sick. iPod Workshop in Portlaoise

Next Saturday week, 3rd class are going on a minibus to Portlaoise to give a workshop about using the iPods in the classroom. It will take three hours to get there and three hours to get back.
