Sports day was on Friday June 22nd and we had such great fun! Activities included: bouncy castle, parachute games, space-hoppers, scooters, skis, dodgeball, simple orienteering, bench ball, tug of war, co-operative games and races.
On Wednesday June 20th we went to Mayo Leisure Point in Castlebar. We had lots of fun playing in Nokeys ball pit, Laser World and bowling.
Holy Communion took place on May 19th this year. The children had a lovely day after all the practising in the weeks beforehand. On Friday June 1st Mrs.O’Rourke and Seamus took our class out to the school organic garden. We planted many seeds such as beans, beetroot and red onion. We learned how to evenly space out the seeds and how to care for our garden.
Second Class took part in an orienteering lesson with Ms.James. They worked in pairs to find matching cards under cones around the astro pitch. It was a lot of fun!
We made Valentine’s Day clay love hearts in class. We then painted them and wrapped them up nicely to bring home to our loved ones. We also learned about the life of Saint Valentine. We studied different countries. We learned all about India and the Taj Mahal. We dressed up in Indian costumes and did projects on Indian culture. We also learned about other famous world landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and the Great Wall of China. Here we are in costumes and working on our projects.
We had a great day on our tour to Kids Kingdom and Forest Park.
We really enjoyed our special day on Wednesday 7th June. We walked round the track with the infants and first class first of all.
