GAA Around Ireland Video

Well done to Jack in 6th class who features in the new GAA Around Ireland video. This was an all Ireland schools collaboration video where each of the 32 counties passes the ball to each other through a variety of GAA sports. It will be shown in Croke Park at the launch of the GAA Go Games.


Fencing with Pentathlon Ireland

After some children from the school participated in a biathlon in December, Pentathlon Ireland came to the school to give the children from second class to sixth a fencing taster. The sessions were very well organised and the children learnt the correct stance en garde, how to move forwards and backwards and how to lunge and strike. Everyone had great fun and it was great

Some of the girls from 3rd and 4th classes participated in a 5 a-side futsal tournament on Tuesday 20th January. Biathlon

On Saturday 13th December a number of children from the school participated in a biathlon competition. They ran 800metres on the track at Sligo IT and later in the day swam 2 lengths of the pool at the sports complex. In between events they had the opportunity to try fencing and laser shooting. Athletics Fest

Well done to all the children who competed in the Athletics Fest at Knocknarea Arena on Friday 17th October. A total of 36 children from our school competed in the event. All competitors performed very well with three of our nine relay teams reaching the final of their events. Congratulations to our junior mixed 100m team and our senior mixed 100m team both of whom won their finals after also winning

Sligo Schools Cross Country

Well done to all the children who participated in the Sligo Schools Cross Country competition on Saturday 11 October. It was the first time the school had entered the competition and all of the children ran very well. Rugby Coaching

                Fifth and sixth classes have just completed a four week block of rugby coaching. This coaching was provided by trained coaches supplied by Connacht Rugby. Children had the option of playing full contact or tag rugby with a separate coach for each discipline. Some of the skills worked on were handling, passing, creation of space and evasion

Girls Football Semi Final

Commiserations to our Girls’ Gaelic football team who were narrowly defeated by Grange in an enthralling county semi final on Thursday 5th June. Ransboro started the game strongly and raced into a 2 0 lead after a few minutes. Grange pulled back a point shortly afterwards but Ransboro continued to dominate possession  and soon added on another score.  Several chances were missed by Ransboro and Grange
