Congratulations to all the children who took part in the Athletics Fest for Primary Schools in I.T. Sligo Athletics Arena on Thursday 26th September. Today Paul Murray from Sligo Sports and Recreation came in and took a coaching session on the shot putt with some of the children from 5th and 6th classes. He started with beanbags and worked up to a 2kg shot putt.

We had a Wimbledon style afternoon of fun on June 25th. We played tennis and enjoyed ice-cream and strawberries. Nixie- “I thought it was really cool as we got to experience what Wimbledon is like”. Ronan -“I liked having ice-cream and I got lots of energy out of it for the tennis”.
We were very busy during active week. We tried lots of different activities including yoga, orienteering, space hoppers, scooters and the parachute. We also went for walks/runs with fourth class and fifth class.
On Friday all the children who participated in the Cumann na mBunscol competition were treated to pizza for representing the school. Their attitude was also rewarded as the school won the Fair Play Award for schools in our group as well as the overall county award for fair play. Well done to everyone.
