Our Trip to Sligo Education Centre

On Friday October 8th, we went on a bus to Sligo Education Centre to show work on our iPod Touches. There were lots of principals from schools around Sligo there. Mary, who gave us the iPod Touches, was there as well. Fiona’s mum was there and Caoimhe O’s dad was there and Mrs. Clarke, our principal, was there. We were there for an hour.

Our Visit to the Library

Today we went to Sligo County Library to listen to an author named Malachy Doyle.as part of Children’s Book Festival 2010. We listened to him read some stories that he had written. 6th Class visit Northwest Hospice

On Friday 24th September 6th class visited the newly refurbished Northwest  Hospice. It is a very bright, colourful and friendly place. A nurse called Hazel met us and brought us into the ward. Here she talked to us about the patients who come to stay in the hospice. She explained that the hospice is not only for cancer patients but also for other patients with long term

On Tuesday we went to Krazy Kids in Athlone on our schhol tour. There was a pitch black slide and an orange twirly slide and there was a yellow bumpy slide. 3rd, 4th & 5th Class school tour to the zoo!

On Tuesday 1st June 3rd, 4th & 5th classes went on their school tour to Dublin Zoo.   We left on the 7am train. We had two carriages reserved just for us! Russ – Our Class Bear

Russ is our class bear. He gets chosen to stay for one night at someone’s house. Russ stayed at school for the Hallowe’en holidays. He has already been home with everybody so far this year. We wrote stories about Russ. Russ wears a brown hat, a check scarf, a stripey jumper, a cool jacket, jeans and brown shoes. He also has a karate suit.

Winter BBQ

The winter bbq is happening on Saturday, 17th October in the Dunes Tavern in Strandhill. It promises to be a great night out with a 14oz striploin steak, salad bar and a glass of wine for €15. The music is provided by Michael Leonard (You’re a star) and John Kerr(Folk). There will be a raffle with great prizes.We hope to see you all there!
