Junior Infants visit the library
On Wednesday we visited the school library and enjoyed looking at a selection of books. We will soon be able to borrow books to read at home.

On Friday we enjoyed playing in the soft play area. We also played with some of the toys we will be using with the friendship squad when we are staying for the full day.
We’ve settled into Junior Infants very well and have had a busy few days – playing, touring the school, painting, listening to stories, working and learning some of the routines of ‘big school’.
We really enjoyed our special day on Wednesday 7th June. We walked round the track with the infants and first class first of all. After that we played on the space hoppers and scooters and then the parachutes. For break we had a picnic with the infants followed by soft play and free play. We’ve enjoyed our topic on the Arctic and Antarctic. In class we’ve had a Polar Regions library with books to read and examples of various animals that inhabit the Polar Regions. We created our own books on polar bears and penguins. In art we painted an adult emperor penguin or a chick, recreated some Inuit art and made a scene showing a polar bear

Inuit art We looked at some examples of Inuit Art then tried our own versions. Polar Bears under the Northern Lights First of all we used a purple and then a blue wash.
