On Thursday 26th October a number of children from 3rd to 6th class took part in a Try-a-Tri event an initiative run by Triathlon Ireland and Sligo Sports and Recreation at Sligo Sports Complex and Cleveragh Regional Park. The event consisted of a 50m swim, a 1,500m cycle and a run of 800m with all the children enjoying the challenge.

On Saturday 30th September a number of children participated in the Sligo Cross Country Competition. The senior boys and girls teams ran 1,200m and the junior boys and girls 1,000m. All the children performed well, with everyone completing their race on a challenging muddy course. The junior boys deserve a special mention for coming second overall and qualifying for the Connacht final with Cathal

Congratulations to all the children who competed in the Athletics Fest in the I.T. Sligo. Everyone ran well and enjoyed the day. An extra well done to the junior boys and senior girls teams who both won their respective competitions.
Our buddies came to work with us again on Friday. We showed off our rhyming, cutting, colouring and sticking skills. We also performed our rhyme about a crocodile and made them jump!
We’ve been improving our colouring skills and learning to recognise the characters in Oxford Reading Tree.
On Friday morning we went outside for P.E. We enjoyed playing a games using the hoops and ran our two laps of the astro.
On Friday our ‘buddies’ from 6th class came to work with us for the first time. We practised our colouring, cutting and sticking skills.
Some colouring, cutting and sticking work based on the story Peace At Last. We worked really well, didn’t need much help and didn’t get too much glue on the tables! Miss Wetherald was very happy with our work.
