New Soft Play Area

img_1161_editedAs part of the re-development of the school in 2015, we made provision for a Soft Play area at the rear of the school. At the time, our funding only allowed us to provide a large climbing frame in this area, although we had planned out the rest of the area.

Now, thanks to fundraising by our Parents’ Association (7th Class, The Adults), mainly through the Boston Tea Party organised in October in the Radisson Hotel, we have been able to complete the Soft Play area as intended.

Work took place on the completion of the area for three days last week. This involved installation of the new pieces of equipment as well as some re-surfacing work. The area now contains five main pieces of equipment: the Climbing Frame, a Spinning Chair, the Log Bridge, the Balancing Beam and the Log Walk.

Pupils have begun using the area on a rotation basis during break times this week and this will continue into the new year. It’s been a big hit with the pupils and is a great asset to our school.
