Tuesday November 24th was a day of celebration in the life of the school community as we held the Official Opening and Blessing of The Glen and the new extension to the school. Most Rev. Kevin Doran, Bishop of Elphin, officiated at the Prayer Service and Blessing.
A packed marquee of parents, pupils, staff, Board of Management and guests attended as Mr. Tommie Gorman performed the Official Opening, assisted by past pupil, Stephen Lynch. The gathering was addressed by Bishop Kevin, Mr. Dan Scannel, Chairperson BOM, Tommie Gorman, Stephen Lynch, Mrs. Siobhán Clarke, Principal and Mrs. Helen Elliott, parent.
After the Prayer Service and speeches, everyone viewed the fantastic new facilities in our new extension and in “The Glen”, as well as the redeveloped Brian Gilligan Memorial Library.
Guests were then treated to a beautiful spread of delicacies prepared and served by members of our parent body.
We thank all those who contributed in any way to the success of the day and making it a memorable and historic day in the life of our school community.
