Oxford Reading Tree App

Read With Biff Chip and KipperOxford Reading Tree (ORT) is one of the reading schemes we use in the school for supplementary readers. With systematic phonics at its heart and ORT’s well-loved characters, it is a graded reading scheme which builds on the skills and vocabulary learned by reading books in previous levels.

There is now an iPad/Android app called “Read With Biff, Chip and Kipper”. This app is based on the ORT series and compliments the reading scheme. It consists of 48 ebooks in six different levels. The apps are true to the books’ focus on developing reading skills, but incorporate interactive elements for a stimulating and enjoyable experience.

The app is a great accompaniment to the books, supporting reading and phonics development. There are tips for parents, with the app allowing the stories to be read to children, or to ‘Read by Myself’.

This app can be purchased for iPad or Android devices. The six levels of readers can be purchased separately (€12.99), they can be purchased as a bundle of three levels (€31.99) or they can be purchased in entirety (€59.99).
