Dear Parents,

I hope this note finds everyone well. It is hard to believe that we are heading towards the end of May! Please take note of the following notices:

First Communion

A heartfelt and very sincere thank you to all involved in making the First Communion celebration so special- Well done to Mrs. O Rourke and the children on the beautiful Mass, which was so special. Congratulations to all the children in 2nd class who were so beautifully turned out and partook in the celebration so respectfully. Heartfelt thanks also to Mrs. Hampson who created the lovely Mass booklets.

Sincere thanks to the “Do This In Memory” Committee, who arranged all of the preparation Masses and put such time and effort into this. This is an important form of preparation for the children, and the group of parents involved did an excellent job.

The choir, as always, were magnificent and really did the school proud. Thank you to all the teachers who played music and co-ordinated the choir, and to the group of children who turned out to sing and enhanced the ceremony so beautifully. It really is appreciated.

A very large thank you to all of the parents of 1st and 3rd class and to our Parent’s Association, who put on such a wonderful party in the hall after the Mass. All the families of 2nd class really appreciate the huge effort you all went to and it really makes the occasion so special for everyone. It is a lovely tradition that we need to ensure is kept alive in the school. Many thanks!

Confirmation

Sincere congratulations to the 6th class children on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation last Thursday. Well done to Mr. Quinn, who prepared the children so well and to all who were involved in the service. It is a lovely occasion for the whole parish.

We encourage as many as possible of you to support, as we hope to purchase a new set of supplementary readers for the whole school with the proceeds. Many thanks to the group of parents who are organising this event.

Sock Collection

A local man from the community, Kevin Mc Gloin, has asked the school to organise a collection of any unwanted/surplus pairs of socks in good condition for an Irish nurse working with very poor families in villages around Medugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. If any families are willing, we are grateful if you would send in a pair of socks to school and we will collect and give to Kevin.

Continued thanks for your support,
