Our County

Ben Bulben

In geography we were learning about our county – Sligo. We had to answer twelve questions about our county. Our county is particularly good at Gaelic and soccer. Our county is in Connacht. Two counties that border our county are Mayo and Roscommon. Two rivers in our county are Owenmore and the Garavogue. Two mountains are Ben Bulben and Ox Mountains. Famous attractions in Sligo are Strandhill for its amazing waves; Carrowmore Tombs are also older than the pyramids in Egypt; Ben Bulben because in the 2nd World War a plane crashed down on it; WB Yeats was a very famous poet across the world and he is buried in Drumcliff in Sligo. The last tourist attraction is Lisadell House. The Gore-Booths lived there. The largest town in our county is Sligo. Our county’s colours are black and white. The car registration is SO. Our county is the best of the west!
